In collaboration with the teams at Video Alarm Technologies and Calipsa, we have now been able to finalise the integration of a video verification and monitoring solution like no other.
Introducing the Calipsa Cloud False Alarm Filtering platform. Bringing real Analytics to the tried and tested Frontel Videofied product line, as well as working with a range of NVR and IP Camera types – truly bringing the future to fruition. Now without the need for expensive upgrades and or hardware replacement – you can intelligently filter video footage based on world class deep learning analytics.
The Calipsa deep learning Analytics platform provides amazingly accurate video alarm verification and analysis, commonly achieving between 75% and 90% – or higher – reduction in false alarm traffic!

With Calipsa, your Videofied Alarms are essentially pre- processed in a matter of seconds, to determine whether an alarm is “true” or “false”. This means real or “true” alarms can be actioned more efficiently and effectively than ever before.
This level of service, accuracy and intelligence lets you offer your customers an outstanding monitoring experience – virtually guaranteed false alarm free!
Our own testing and comparison has shown Calipsa’s bold claims to have some real substance. It’s not a miracle worker, but in my opinion it is very impressive.
In one example we ran overnight tests where our motion record cameras regularly registered 50 plus alarms in a 6 hour period.

On review, every one of these alarms had an identifiable cause for the trigger – however they were all false alarms caused by rapid light and contrast changes or small animals and insects. Calipsa managed to filter over 98% of these events, meaning they were never passed to our automation system for action by an operator.
Those alarms that were deemed to be “true” were generally either persons or vehicles with only a couple of vertically elongated severe light and contrast changes, moving in and out of the image being marked as real alarms.

At this level I feel this is more than acceptable and given the volume of images processed I would say it’s excellent.
On top of this our integration with the Calipsa platform then allows us to tag that particular alarm event as either a “true” or “false” alarm – further enhancing future results from their Deep Learning Analytics algorithms.
Video Alarm Technologies (VAT) have worked extensively with Calipsa to integrate the Frontel Videofied panel with the cloud based Video Analytics platform.
As part of this development VAT recently reached out to the Rechenberg development team for assistance with testing and fine tuning of the automation interface.
