Be ready and confident to say “YES” when asked, “is your alarm system NBN compatible?”

Let us guide you through the process – quickly & easily!
There are a few different options for NBN solutions. Here’s a small breakdown of each.

1. Rechenberg Cellular Wireless IP – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Most security alarm panels manufactured in the past 20 years will be compatible with Rechenberg’s Cellular Wireless IP solution. This is the simplest, most cost-effective solution to ensure your security alarm is 100% NBN compatible and safe!

This solution means:

  • You no longer need a telephone line for your security alarm
  • No more phone call charges for your alarm system
  • Not affected in any way by your NBN connection
  • Direct Cellular communication by Multiple Service Providers*
  • Zero or Limited additional cabling required.
  • Full battery backup (this can be a critical factor for your alarm communications)

A qualified, licenced Rechenberg Security Alarm Technician will visit your premises and fit our Cellular Wireless communicator to your existing alarm system before testing it back to our 24/7 Control Room to confirm all is working to ‘A Grade’ standard.

2. Ethernet IP Only – RECOMMENDED ONLY WHERE CELLULAR WIRELESS IS UNAVAILABLE

Most security alarm panels manufactured in the past 20 years will be compatible with Ethernet IP Only Communicators. Although this solution can appear to be more cost-effective than Cellular Wireless, there are some connectivity issues to consider before implementing this solution.

This solution means:

  • You no longer need a telephone line for your security alarm
  • No more phone call charges for your alarm system
  • Completely dependent on your NBN connection (if your internet goes down you have no alarm communications).
  • Changes to IP address, gateways, modems, routers or NBN configurations can stop your alarm system communications.
  • Must have Ethernet cabling installed (at extra cost) back to your Local Area Network.
  • No battery backup for communications path (even if the Ethernet Communicator itself has battery backup if the power fails and your NBN modem/Router loses power your alarm system cannot communicate).
